Meet Fort Atkinson Winners!
The Fort Atkinson Area Chamber of Commerce hosted Lemonade Day on Saturday, May 6th. The event was made possible by the generous support of FCCU as the Presenting Sponsor, along with Main Squeeze Sponsors Johnson Financial and Badger Bank. The Chamber would also like to extend its gratitude to Homes for Independent Living, the Contest Sponsor, and all the businesses that served as Safe Stand Sponsors.
The event was a success thanks to the help of the young entrepreneurs, parents, volunteers, and mentors who participated. Five impressive lemonade stands graced the community this year showcasing the creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit of the young participants.
The first award for the Best Tasting Lemonade went to William Kaiser of William's Shellery supported by Topcon and located at Barrie Park near the Water Fountain. Kaiser received a trophy and a $25 Chamber gift certificate in recognition of his outstanding lemonade.
The next award, the Best Stand Award, sponsored by Homes for Independent Living, was presented to Ira and Serilah Wessely. Their stand, Pika Juice, was painted in vibrant yellow with a Pikachu theme, impressed the judges and stood out among the others. They pledged to donate a portion of their earnings to the Little Free Pantry at Trinity Lutheran Church. Becky Tuttle and Polly Schull were present to receive the donation on behalf of the pantry. Ira and Serilah were presented with a trophy and a $25 Chamber gift certificate.
Lemonade Day Entrepreneur of the Year was the final award presented. The recipients of this award were Mia Allard and Maya Esparza. This group was an inspiration to all the newer entrepreneurs. Their stand, "Lemon Lush," demonstrated growth and innovation. They also shared their profits with the Fort Atkinson Fire Department, providing them with new pairs of heavy-duty safety shears. Mia and Maya were honored with the Entrepreneur of the Year trophy and $50 in Chamber gift certificates.
In addition to Mia and Maya, the Lemon Lush crew also included two other members who were unable to attend the event. Grace Nevermann and Cecilia Keufler were recognized and commended for their contribution to the stand's success.
The Fort Atkinson Area Chamber of Commerce expressed its gratitude to all the young entrepreneurs, their parents, and mentors for their dedication and hard work. The Chamber also extended its appreciation to the sponsors and partners who made Lemonade Day possible, with special thanks to FCCU and BASE. Their support played a vital role in ensuring the event's success.
